Ingredients

  • 500g shark fillets, cut into chunks
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent.
  3. Add the shark fillets to the pot and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Pour in the tomato puree, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Add the water, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the shark is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
  6. Serve the shark in tomato sauce hot, accompanied by rice or ugali.
