Shashlik (spiced Lamb Kebabs)

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lamb, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the chopped onion, minced garlic, olive oil, paprika, cumin, turmeric, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the lamb cubes to the bowl and coat them evenly with the spice mixture. Marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated lamb cubes onto skewers.
  5. Grill the kebabs for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
