Ingredients
- 500g chicken thighs, thinly sliced
- 4 pita bread
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1 tomato, thinly sliced
- 4 tbsp yogurt
- 2 tbsp kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the yogurt, kecap manis, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, chili powder, ground nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Add the sliced chicken thighs and marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the marinated chicken until fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes.
- Warm the pita bread in the pan for about 1 minute on each side.
- Assemble the shawarma by placing the cooked chicken, sliced onion, cucumber, and tomato on the pita bread. Roll it up and serve.
