Ingredients

  • 500g boneless, skinless chicken thighs, thinly sliced
  • 4 pita bread
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 4 tbsp tahini sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken slices and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated chicken for 6-8 minutes, or until fully cooked.
  3. Warm the pita bread in the skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  4. Assemble the shawarma by placing the cooked chicken, onion, cucumber, tomatoes, and parsley on the pita bread. Drizzle with tahini sauce.
  5. Roll up the pita bread and serve the shawarma immediately.
