Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita bread or flatbreads
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sliced red onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Garlic sauce and tahini for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the yogurt, olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken slices and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken for 5-7 minutes or until fully cooked.
  3. Warm the pita bread or flatbreads in the skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  4. Assemble the shawarma wraps by placing the cooked chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and parsley on the flatbread. Drizzle with garlic sauce and tahini.
  5. Roll up the wraps and serve immediately.
