Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and softened butter. Gradually add water and knead the dough until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the sesame seeds, honey, and ground cardamom to make the filling.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut out circles using a cookie cutter.
  5. Place a spoonful of the sesame and honey filling in the center of each circle, then fold the edges to form a triangle shape, pinching the corners to seal.
  6. Place the filled cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let the shekerbura cool before serving.
