Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 2 carrots, diced

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion, carrots, peas, garlic, and thyme. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Stir in the beef broth and tomato paste. Simmer for 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes over the top.
  6. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the filling is bubbling.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
