Shish Kebab (armenian Lamb Kebabs)
Shish Kebab, also known as Armenian Lamb Kebabs, is a traditional Armenian dish that is perfect for grilling and enjoying with family and friends. The tender and flavorful marinated lamb, combined with colorful vegetables, makes for a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs lamb, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 large red onion, cut into chunks
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the olive oil, yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add the lamb cubes to the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated lamb, red onion, and bell peppers onto skewers.
- Grill the kebabs for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness and the vegetables are tender and slightly charred.
- Remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
