Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 large bell pepper, cut into chunks

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, garlic, olive oil, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated chicken, onions, and bell peppers onto skewers.
  4. Grill the skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.
  5. Serve the Shish Tawook hot with rice, pita bread, or a fresh salad.
