Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 onion, cut into chunks
- 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the yogurt, garlic, olive oil, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken cubes and toss to coat. Marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Thread the marinated chicken, onion, and bell pepper onto skewers.
- Grill the skewers for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.
- Serve the Shish Tawook hot with rice, salad, and pita bread.
