Shogo Shapta, also known as Golden Fried Yak Dumplings, is a traditional Tibetan dish that is bursting with flavor and texture. These crispy dumplings are filled with a savory yak meat mixture and are perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 lb yak meat, minced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 package dumpling wrappers
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the minced yak meat, onion, garlic, ginger, cilantro, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric, chili powder, and salt.
- Place a small amount of the meat mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold over, and press to seal.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the dumplings until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the dumplings from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve the Shogo Shapta hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
