Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
  2. Add the cumin and coriander, and cook for another minute.
  3. Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer.
  4. Whisk the yogurt in a bowl and gradually add a ladleful of the hot broth to temper it.
  5. Slowly pour the tempered yogurt into the pot while stirring constantly.
  6. Add the cilantro and dill, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
