Ingredients

  • 4 cups plain yogurt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron strands
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoons slivered almonds and pistachios for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the yogurt in a muslin cloth and tie it tightly. Hang it over a bowl for 4-5 hours to drain the excess water and thicken the yogurt.
  2. Transfer the thickened yogurt to a mixing bowl and add powdered sugar, saffron strands, and cardamom powder. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Refrigerate the shrikhand for a few hours to chill.
  4. Garnish with slivered almonds and pistachios before serving.
