Shrimp and Pork Dumplings (Bánh bột lọc)
Bánh bột lọc is a popular Vietnamese dish consisting of translucent shrimp and pork dumplings wrapped in a tapioca flour dough. These delicious dumplings are often enjoyed as a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 cup tapioca flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the shrimp, ground pork, salt, sugar, and ground black pepper.
- In a separate bowl, combine the tapioca flour and water to form a dough.
- Divide the dough into small balls and flatten each ball into a circle.
- Place a spoonful of the shrimp and pork mixture in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges to form dumplings.
- Heat the cooking oil in a pan and fry the dumplings until they are translucent and cooked through.
- Serve the dumplings hot with dipping sauce.
