Shrimp Fritters (buñelos Uhang)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Add the chopped green onions, cilantro, beaten egg, and water to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  3. Chop the shrimp into small pieces and fold them into the batter.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the shrimp batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the fritters from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve the shrimp fritters hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
