Shrimp Toast

Ingredients

  • 12 slices white bread
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the shrimp, garlic, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper. Pulse until the mixture becomes a paste.
  2. Trim the crusts off the bread slices and cut each slice into 4 triangles.
  3. Spread a generous amount of the shrimp paste onto each triangle of bread.
  4. Beat the egg in a bowl. Dip each shrimp toast into the beaten egg, then coat with sesame seeds.
  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the shrimp toasts in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the shrimp toasts from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
