Ingredients

  • 12 spring roll wrappers

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, green onions, and minced garlic.
  2. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper to the vegetable mixture and toss to combine.
  3. Place a spring roll wrapper on a clean surface and spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the vegetable filling onto the bottom third of the wrapper.
  4. Roll the wrapper over the filling, tucking in the sides as you go, and seal the edge with a little water.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the spring rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the spring rolls from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve the crispy Manchu vegetable spring rolls hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
