Shuwa (grilled Spiced Shrimp)
Shuwa is a traditional Omani dish of marinated and grilled spiced shrimp that is bursting with flavor. This recipe is perfect for seafood lovers and those who enjoy a taste of Omani cuisine.
Ingredients
- 1 kg large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the marinade. Let them marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the shrimp onto skewers and grill for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are pink and opaque.
- Remove the shrimp from the grill and serve hot.
