Shuwa (spiced Lamb Kebabs)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lamb, cubed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the cubed lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, ground cinnamon, ground turmeric, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  2. Thread the marinated lamb onto the soaked wooden skewers.
  3. Heat a stovetop grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the lamb kebabs for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  5. Remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
