Sien Savanh (lao Beef Jerky)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of beef, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, black pepper, garlic, and sesame oil.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat the dehydrator to 160°F (70°C).
  4. Remove the beef from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels.
  5. Place the beef slices on the dehydrator trays, leaving space between each slice for air circulation.
  6. Dehydrate the beef for 4-6 hours, or until it reaches your desired level of dryness.
  7. Once dried, let the beef jerky cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
