Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh spinach
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  2. Blanch the spinach in the boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  3. Drain the spinach and squeeze out excess water.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the blanched spinach, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, sugar, and black pepper. Toss until the spinach is well coated with the seasoning.
  5. Transfer the seasoned spinach to a serving dish and serve at room temperature or chilled.
