Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tbsp sweet paprika
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 liter beef stock
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and garlic, and sauté until the onions are translucent.
  3. Add the beef cubes to the pot and brown them on all sides.
  4. Stir in the sweet paprika and tomato paste, coating the beef evenly.
  5. Pour in the beef stock and add the bay leaves. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Bring the goulash to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  7. Once the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened, remove the bay leaves and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  8. Serve the gulasz wołowy śląski hot, accompanied by crusty bread or mashed potatoes.
