Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork shoulder, diced
  • 1 lb beef stew meat, cubed
  • 1 lb kielbasa sausage, sliced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 head of cabbage, shredded
  • 1 lb sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the pork shoulder, beef stew meat, and kielbasa sausage over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the shredded cabbage and sauerkraut, then add the bay leaves, caraway seeds, beef broth, and red wine.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, then cover and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Adjust seasoning if needed, then serve hot.
