Ingredients
- 1 kg ripe plums, pitted and halved
- 1 liter water
- 150g sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the plums, water, sugar, cinnamon stick, and ground cloves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the plums are soft.
- Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Allow the soup to cool slightly, then remove the cinnamon stick.
- Using an immersion blender, puree the soup until smooth.
- Chill the soup in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
- When serving, top each bowl with a dollop of sour cream if desired.
