Silesian Potato Pie (Ziemniaczane ciasto śląskie)
Ziemniaczane ciasto śląskie, or Silesian Potato Pie, is a traditional dish from the Silesian region of Poland. This hearty and comforting pie is made with layers of thinly sliced potatoes, bacon, and onions, all baked to golden perfection.
Ingredients
- 6 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 8 slices of bacon, diced
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the diced bacon and sliced onions over the potatoes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, bacon, and onions.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
