Silky Chicken Skewers, also known as Chicken Reshmi Kabab, are a popular Pakistani dish known for their smooth and creamy texture. These skewers are marinated in a blend of yogurt, cream, and spices, resulting in tender and flavorful chicken.

Silky Chicken Skewers (chicken Reshmi Kabab)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 8-10 wooden skewers, soaked in water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine yogurt, cream, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and salt.
  2. Add chicken cubes to the marinade and mix well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat the stovetop grill or a non-stick pan over medium heat.
  4. Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers.
  5. Brush the grill or pan with vegetable oil and place the skewers on it.
  6. Cook for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
  7. Garnish with chopped cilantro, mint, and a drizzle of lemon juice before serving.
