Silky Chicken Skewers (chicken Reshmi Kabab)
Silky Chicken Skewers, also known as Chicken Reshmi Kabab, are a popular Pakistani dish known for their smooth and creamy texture. These skewers are marinated in a blend of yogurt, cream, and spices, resulting in tender and flavorful chicken.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless chicken, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground coriander
- 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 8-10 wooden skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine yogurt, cream, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and salt.
- Add chicken cubes to the marinade and mix well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the stovetop grill or a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Brush the grill or pan with vegetable oil and place the skewers on it.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro, mint, and a drizzle of lemon juice before serving.
