Sindhi Bhugal Gosht (bhugal Mutton)
Sindhi Bhugal Gosht, also known as Bhugal Mutton, is a traditional dish from the Sindhi cuisine that is packed with rich flavors and aromatic spices. This slow-cooked mutton dish is perfect for a hearty meal with family and friends.
Ingredients
- 500g mutton, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely sliced
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 cup oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes until the raw aroma disappears.
- Now, add the mutton pieces and cook on high heat until they are browned on all sides.
- Reduce the heat, add the chopped tomatoes, yogurt, and all the dry spices. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in 2 cups of water, cover the pan, and let the mutton cook on low heat for 1 hour or until tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
