Sindhi Dal Pakwan Sliders

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chana dal
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 12 mini slider buns

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the chana dal for 2 hours. Then, pressure cook with turmeric, red chili powder, and salt until soft.
  2. In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, baking powder, yogurt, and water to make a soft dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and roll out into small puris. Deep fry until golden brown and crispy.
  4. To assemble the sliders, place a spoonful of cooked chana dal on a slider bun, top with chopped onions, tomatoes, and cilantro, and cover with another bun.
