Sindhi Koki (سندھی کوکی)

Sindhi Koki (سندھی کوکی)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, chopped onion, green chilies, fresh coriander, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
  2. Add water gradually and knead the mixture into a firm dough.
  3. Divide the dough into equal-sized balls and flatten them into thick discs using your palms.
  4. Heat a griddle or non-stick pan over medium heat and place the flattened dough disc on it.
  5. Cook the koki on both sides, adding a little oil, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining dough discs.
  7. Serve the hot koki with yogurt, chutney, or pickles.
