Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • 4 burger buns
  • Butter for toasting
  • Sliced tomatoes, onions, and lettuce for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, chopped onion, green chilies, fresh coriander, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
  2. Add water gradually and knead the mixture into a firm dough.
  3. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape them into thick patties, similar to burger buns.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and place the patties on it. Cook for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Toast the burger buns with a little butter until they are golden and crisp.
  6. Assemble the Sindhi Koki Burger by placing a Koki patty on the bottom half of each burger bun. Top with sliced tomatoes, onions, and lettuce. Cover with the top half of the burger bun.
