Sindhi Koki Tostada

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, chopped onion, green chilies, cumin seeds, red chili powder, and salt.
  2. Add water gradually and knead the mixture into a firm dough.
  3. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a flat disc (koki).
  4. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and place the koki on it.
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, applying a little oil until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from the pan and place on a serving plate.
  7. Top each koki with your favorite toppings like salsa, guacamole, or sour cream to create the tostada.
