Sindhi Saag (سندھی ساگ)
سندھی ساگ (Sindhi Saag) is a traditional Muhajir Cuisine dish that is packed with flavor and nutrition. This dish is a perfect combination of spinach and other leafy greens, cooked with aromatic spices to create a delicious and healthy meal.
Ingredients
- 500g spinach, washed and chopped
- 250g mustard greens, washed and chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3-4 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Water as needed
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pot and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger and garlic paste, green chilies, and tomatoes. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add all the dry spices and cook for a few minutes.
- Add the chopped spinach and mustard greens. Mix well.
- Add water as needed and let the saag cook on low heat until the greens are tender.
- Once the saag is cooked, adjust the seasoning and serve hot.
