Ingredients

  • 1 tsp chaat masala

  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup tamarind chutney
  • 1 cup mint-coriander chutney
  • 1 cup thick yogurt
  • 1/2 cup sev (crunchy chickpea noodles)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the mashed potatoes, bread crumbs, red chili powder, chaat masala, cumin powder, chopped onions, cilantro, and salt.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into round tikkis.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the tikkis until they are golden and crispy on both sides. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  4. To assemble the chaat, place the aloo tikkis on a serving plate. Top each tikki with a spoonful of tamarind chutney, mint-coriander chutney, and yogurt.
  5. Sprinkle sev on top and garnish with additional chopped cilantro if desired.
