Sinigang Na Hipon
Sinigang na hipon is a traditional Filipino sour soup made with shrimp and vegetables. This tangy and savory dish is perfect for a comforting meal, especially during cold weather or when you're feeling under the weather.
Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 tomatoes, quartered
- 2 cups water spinach (kangkong)
- 8 cups water
- 3-4 tbsp tamarind soup base mix
- 2-3 pieces green chili peppers
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the water to a boil.
- Add the onions and tomatoes, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tamarind soup base mix and green chili peppers. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the shrimp and water spinach, and cook for another 5-7 minutes or until the shrimp is pink and cooked through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
