Ingredients

  • 1 package of puff pastry
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
  3. Slowly pour the milk into the bowl with the sugar mixture, whisking constantly.
  4. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and let the custard cool to room temperature.
  6. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 12 squares.
  8. Place a spoonful of the custard in the center of each square.
  9. Fold the pastry over the custard to form a triangle and press the edges to seal.
  10. Place the pillows on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Let the pillows cool, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
