  • 1 onion, grated
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 lb beef stew meat, cut into cubes
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp sweet paprika
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, grated onion, eggs, flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form a batter.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of the potato batter into the skillet, flattening them with a spatula to form pancakes. Cook until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  3. In a separate pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
  4. Add the beef stew meat to the pot and brown on all sides.
  5. Stir in the sweet paprika, beef broth, and water. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat and let the goulash simmer for about 1 hour, or until the meat is tender.
