Ingredients
- 1 lb Slovenian sausage, sliced
- 2 cups sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, sauté the sliced sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove the sausage from the pot and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Stir in the sauerkraut, caraway seeds, and paprika. Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Return the browned sausage to the pot and season with salt and pepper. Cover and let the stew simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Once the stew is ready, serve hot and enjoy!
