Ingredients

  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef slices and cook until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in the same skillet. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their juices and become tender.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom mixture and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring constantly until it thickens.
  6. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and stir in the sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve the Slovenian Beef Stroganoff over cooked pasta or rice, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
