Sorbete De Mango (mango Sorbet)
Sorbete de Mango, or Mango Sorbet, is a refreshing and delightful frozen dessert that is popular in the Dominican Republic. This simple and delicious treat is perfect for cooling down on a hot day or as a sweet ending to a meal.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool.
- Place the diced mangoes in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
- Add the cooled sugar syrup and lime juice to the mango puree. Blend again until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.
- Every 30 minutes, remove the dish from the freezer and use a fork to scrape and stir the mixture, breaking up any ice crystals. Repeat this process for about 3-4 hours, or until the sorbet is firm and scoopable.
- Serve the mango sorbet in chilled bowls or cones, and enjoy!
