Süßer Tee, also known as Southern Sweet Tea, is a classic beverage from Mecklenburg cuisine. This sweet and refreshing iced tea is perfect for sipping on a hot summer day.
Ingredients
- 6 cups water
- 6 black tea bags
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- Lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the tea bags. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags and stir in the sugar until completely dissolved.
- Allow the sweet tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.
- Serve the sweet tea over ice, garnished with lemon slices if desired.
