Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs pork shoulder, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, tomato paste, garlic, ginger, chili powder, paprika, black pepper, and vegetable oil to make the marinade.
  2. Add the pork cubes to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated pork cubes onto skewers, alternating with chunks of onion and bell pepper.
  5. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pork is cooked through and slightly charred.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
