Spam Musubi Delight

Ingredients

  • 6 slices of spam
  • 3 cups of cooked sushi rice
  • 6 sheets of nori (seaweed)
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of mirin
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Cut each slice of spam in half to make 12 smaller pieces.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, mirin, and sugar to make the teriyaki sauce.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the spam until lightly browned.
  4. Brush the teriyaki sauce onto the spam slices and continue to cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, until the sauce caramelizes.
  5. Place a sheet of nori on a clean surface and lay a musubi mold in the center.
  6. Fill the mold with a layer of rice, then top with a slice of spam, and press it down gently.
  7. Remove the mold and wrap the nori around the rice and spam, sealing the edges with a little water.
  8. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make 6 musubi rolls.
