Spanakopita Bites
Spanakopita Bites are a delicious Greek appetizer that combines the flavors of spinach, feta cheese, and flaky phyllo dough. These bite-sized treats are perfect for parties or as a savory snack.
Ingredients
- 1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 24 sheets phyllo dough, thawed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease mini muffin cups.
- In a large bowl, mix together the spinach, feta cheese, Parmesan cheese, dill, green onions, eggs, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush lightly with melted butter. Top with another sheet of phyllo and brush with more butter. Repeat with 2 more sheets of phyllo, for a total of 4 layers.
- Cut the layered phyllo into 6 squares. Gently press each square into a mini muffin cup.
- Spoon the spinach mixture into the phyllo cups.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the phyllo is golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
