Spanish Patatas Bravas
Patatas Bravas is a classic Spanish tapas dish featuring crispy potatoes topped with a spicy tomato sauce and aioli. It's a popular dish in Western European cuisine and is perfect for sharing with friends and family.
Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, toss the potato cubes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them out on a baking sheet and roast for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- While the potatoes are roasting, prepare the spicy tomato sauce by combining the tomato sauce, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, then set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, minced garlic, and lemon juice to make the aioli.
- Once the potatoes are done, transfer them to a serving dish and drizzle with the spicy tomato sauce and aioli. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve hot.
