Ingredients
- 1.5 kg pork spare ribs, cut into individual ribs
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp tauco (fermented soybean paste)
- 3 Tbsp kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground white pepper
- 2 cups water
- 2 Tbsp cooking oil
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat the cooking oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add the pork spare ribs to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.
- Stir in the tauco, kecap manis, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and ground white pepper. Mix well to coat the ribs.
- Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a boil. Then reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 1 hour or until the ribs are tender.
- Once the ribs are cooked, transfer them to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions.
