Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and onion for garnish
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Water, as needed

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper, and breadcrumbs. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  2. Heat a stovetop grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  3. While the patties are cooking, prepare the tahini mayo by whisking together the tahini, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Add water as needed to achieve a drizzling consistency.
  4. Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster. Spread the tahini mayo on the bottom half of each bun.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a beef kofta patty on top of the tahini mayo, then adding lettuce, tomato, and onion. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
