Spiced Chicken Curry (ГӀуламаш)

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs (700g) chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup (240ml) coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until soft and translucent.
  2. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, ground coriander, ground cumin, turmeric, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the pot and cook until they are no longer pink on the outside.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes, allowing them to soften.
  5. Pour in the coconut milk and season with salt. Stir well and bring the curry to a gentle simmer. Cover the pot and let it cook for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve the spiced chicken curry hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
