Spiced Goat Curry (bhojpuri Mutton Korma)
Spiced Goat Curry, also known as Bhojpuri Mutton Korma, is a traditional dish from the Bhojpuri Cuisine. This rich and flavorful curry is made with tender pieces of goat meat cooked in a blend of aromatic spices and creamy yogurt.
Ingredients
- 1 kg goat meat, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 cup yogurt
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes.
- Add the goat meat and cook until it changes color.
- Stir in the tomato puree, turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Whisk the yogurt and garam masala together, then add it to the pan. Cook for another 10 minutes.
- Pour in enough water to cover the meat, then cover and simmer for 1.5 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
