Spiced Lamb Kofta

Ingredients

  • 500g minced lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the minced lamb, chopped onion, garlic, ginger, ground cumin, ground coriander, garam masala, chili powder, fresh coriander, and salt.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a cylindrical kofta shape.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the koftas and cook for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  4. Serve the spiced lamb kofta hot with rice, naan, or a fresh salad.
