Spiced Lamb Kofta With Tahini Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground lamb, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, parsley, salt, and pepper. Divide the mixture and shape into 8 long, oval kofta patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the kofta patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
  3. While the kofta is cooking, prepare the tahini yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the tahini, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, water, and salt until smooth.
  4. Serve the spiced lamb kofta with the tahini yogurt sauce drizzled on top. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
